Frontera Diabetes Services – El Paso, Texas
Frontera Diabetes Services was created to address the urgent need for diabetes education and preventive health services in El Paso, Texas, a region with a high diabetes morbidity rate and significant health disparities. Many residents, particularly within underserved and Hispanic communities, face cultural, educational, and socioeconomic barriers that limit access to reliable health information and preventive care.
As part of Austin Diabetes Services, this program provides culturally responsive diabetes education and community-based prevention initiatives designed to improve disease awareness, support self-management, and promote healthier lifestyles. Frontera Diabetes Services works to bridge gaps in health education and empower the community with the knowledge and tools needed to reduce diabetes-related complications and improve long-term health outcomes.
Community-Centered Approach
Our programs are built on the conviction that education is one of the most powerful tools for improving public health. Through alliances with community organizations, health providers, and local leaders, Ve Valance Wellness Institute strengthens communities' capacity to face health challenges and reduce inequalities.
